Ok i called and got a quote today to get my springs installed. He said that they would have to move the struts in order to install them and that it would cost 75$ per side up front and up to 100$ per side in the back. Dosent thins sound crazy? I had a freind get his done for 75 total but that was a g35. Any suggestions?

I would say that is pretty normal...I did mine myself and the back was easier for me so that is odd. If you pay people to install stuff it's gonna cost $$$$$$$$$$$$$, half the time more than what you paid for the product being installed.

The struts do not have to be moved to install the springs. Tell him to look again or take the wheel off and look. I'd do em yourself. Lowering springs are easy as cake. Its the drag springs that are a bitch.

Screw that. I'm doing springs, ball joints, shocks, and struts tonight after work. I'll let you know exactly how easy it is to do.

If the struts don't have to be moved, how do you get the A arm low enough to get the spring out?

Dude... seriously... Go to autozone and by yourself 4 jackstands and a jack. get yourself some basic hand tools and do it yourself. You are going to save yourself so much money its not even funny. If you want to complain about the cost of installs learn to do it yourself.

so 150 up front and 200 up back....350 for the install?

thats too expensive to me.

My brother got his done for 200 along with caster camber plates put on.

I think I payed a little over 200 too for mine.

I dont think springs are something you want to mess with if you dont know what your doing....I was under the impression that they are dangerous and could fly out and kill me hahah......thats why I payed for a shop to do them

hahahaha, they can jump out and kill you...but only the front ones.

really, all you need is 2 jack stands, a jack, a rubber mallet, a can of WD-40, and basic hand tools. its really easy, took me about an hour per side up front, and about 30 minutes total for the rear when i had the solid axle. with the IRS, it took me about 45 minutes each side up front, and about 1.5 to 2 hours for the rear.

i know i did a write up of it somewhere, let me see if i can find it.

I just did mine 2 weeks ago, and it cost me around 24dollars(2-12pks of beer) I replaced the c/c plates, springs, struts, swaybar bushings on the front and springs, shocks, uca's and lca's on the rear. It took a little time, I did most of the work myself but it was well worth it... I did learn one thing though, only replace one control arm at a time, unless you remove the driveshaft.

Everything should be left to the pro's, never touch a wrench, it could get you dirty.
