I got this MAC offroad x for my 97 cobra. Header pipes fit to the manifolds but absolutely no way its bolting to the x. Am I missing something????

am I reading that right? You got offroad X. IT bolts to the headers, but not to the MUFFLERS I think you meant to say?

No sir it bolts to the mufflers. That picture is absent the passenger side header pipe. That's the fitment of the header pipe to the crossover right there in this picture

See what happens if you bolt it to the headers first. You may have a little adjustment in the bolts too.

There isn't enough. The header pipes smack into the transmission crossover. If I get the header pipes to fit the crossover like they should the x portion is way to narrow

That really sucks. Does it advertise as fitting 96-98? The crossmember changed in 99. This may not work.

Do you still have the midpipe that came off the car? Can you mock the new one up next to the old one on the ground and see what is different?

Yes says it fits 96-98. I'm going to call the place I bought it from and discuss it with them. Forgot to mention when bolted to the collector on the driver side the nut gets a whole 2 threads on it max. No way that's surviving on the road. o2 sensor doesn't connect either wires are too short.

I set the x section over the stock h pipe section I dont have a picture of it but the flange on the crossover is inside the pipe so it's about 2 or 3 inches to narrow. I against my better judgement cut the stock h pipe into pieces to recycle the cats. (Yes I know) so now the car is down until I can find a solution. A catted midpipe isn't an option because I'd rather spend the 550 bucks on long tubes. I'll keep you updated on what Delj Performance says

I'm thinking the same thing man. Its that crossover wasnt there for the trans it could be persuaded. Dent the body just a touch and would work. This however will not.

Got ahold of Delk. They are currently looking for another pipe for me so fingers crossed they have one. Seemed to be good people and looking to make it right. Let's hope they have a replacement

Will do. Also here is the new crossover laying on top of the old. Can clearly see the difference in why it wont clear the crossmember

^^LOL....silly

Dude, you could grab a set of band clamps, bandaid the original exhaust back together untill you get this situation sorted out. Get your wheels back on the road.
