Very aggravating problem

I have a very aggravating problem. I ordered two exterior rear view mirrors for my 94 mustang. They came in the mail promptly, and were correct in that they were for the driver, and passenger side. But the stupid company sent me mirrors with 2 different finishes. One finish has that textured look, that is almost shiny. Somehow they managed to make the texture gleam in the sun. The other finish is just the smooth look, like what came on the cars. But they look very different, and it would be quite noticeable once both were on the car. The company just some random ebay company, based out of california. They said I can ship them one of the mirrors back and then they'll ship me another one, if I pay for the shipping. So no help there. For what I paid for the mirrors, its not even worth it to pay shipping to send them back. I paid $25 each, free shipping. Both mirrors look great, they just don't match. Arrg. After learning from this experience, I now see that I can not simply order another mirror, cause in all likelihood it will be the wrong finish for the wrong side.

Anyone know where I can order a mirror, that has the factory smooth non-gloss finish? I have to be careful because I have even seen the smooth finish, in some kind of weird gloss. The passenger side mirror that they sent me looks like the factory mirrors did, that came on the car. Its very smooth, with no reflective surface. So I would like to get another one of those.

well funny thing about that is the 94-95 cars had smooth mirrors and the 96-98 cars had textured mirrors. so in reality you bought two factory mirrors. but if i were you i'd put an ad up on like corral trying to get someone to trade you for a matching set to whichever one you want.

Yeah I have seen the factory textured mirrors before. The textured one that I have looks... overdone. Its like its a little too textured or something. And its almost sparkles in the sun. I don't know if that is how they looked from the factory but I doubt it. I'm probably going to have to end up just trashing the two I have, and then pay top dollar for some from a reputable company like rockauto or something. You can get these mirrors all day for $25 shipped, so no one is going to buy or trade them. Hot under the collar.

Lesson learned I guess :)

Now you know they were different from 94-5 and 96-8... just sell the extras. If they are FoMoCo mirrors someone will need them eventually to replace a broken mirror.

I wish they were fomoco brand. Then I might actually have a chance at selling them. More likely I'll just give them away to whoever pays shipping. Paying for the shipping on one of these things, is like paying half the price of having one of those ebay companies ship them to your door. However I'm not sure if the actual fomoco ones are even sold anywhere anymore.
