Hey guys I was looking at the vortech kits after seeing that I can piece one together with a used head unit for under two grand. Anyway, whats the difference in the head units? I know there is a V1 and V2 S-trim, T-trim, and SQ-Trim, but I have no clue what they mean. Any help? Thanks guys!

v1 is loud, v2 is quieter, s-trim will do just fine for most any street car or mild drag car, t- trim is a bigger blower for big boost, stroker or race setups. so v1 or v2 doesnt really matter its just a noise diffence

awesome, thanks Duff for the move. Figured I stuck it in the wrong one lol.

So if I want one a little less loud go with the v2. Where would be the best place to pick one up used? I've looked on ebay and can't find a used one, just a lot of 4 grand kits lol.

The corral. Easiest place.

BTW (I thought) the v1/v2 were same noise level, jusr the v2 SQ's were quieter?

v-1 has straight cut gears and a 3.45:1 step up ratio, the v-2 has helical cut gears and a 3.60:1 step up ratio

some v-1 are really loud and some v-2s are louder then other v-2s. a v-2 will have more of a whistle vs a gear mesh noise of a v-1.

my v-7 is what a v-1 will sound like but the v-7 is a little louder

if i was you i would go with the v-2 since they are quieter. eventually the noise gets old
