I'm just copying this from another forum but I hear a lot of guys asking 5.4 questions on here so I thought I post this up.
Well after 2 years of working on this damn car I finally got this thing on the dyno. The quick list for mods are a stock 5.4 with SHM 2730 cam (not impressed with) Vortech with FMIC, and custom lightning intake.
I'm actually really happy with the numbers, I'm only pulling this thing to 5,500rpms because of the stock rods. But no more stalling the numbers were 390/391 at 5,500rpms at only 6lbs of boost! I'm very pleased with the difference of the 5.4. I'm actually probably down on torque because of my short runner intake but I'm still making 320lbs of torque at 3,000rpms. It has a very nice, very broad torque curve not which I'm very happy with.
I will have the dyno sheet up on Monday and I will go through the footage I have to see if anything is worth putting up. They don't let you stand in the same room as the car anymore while it's on the dyno so I'm not sure any of the footage will be worth a damn.
Next on the list, forged rods and pistons and a smaller pulley!
