Vortech setup questions

Hey guys, so I finally decided to pull the trigger and buy a Vortech supercharger for my 2003 GT. I am buying it used from a guy on Modular Fords and I have a few questions for you all and want to get some opinions. I'm hoping to be making 400rwhp on the stock block/internals.

So to start off, here is what is included in the kit:

-Vortech V2 SQ w/ ~4-5k miles on it
-'00-'04 Mounting bracket
-eBay custom intercooler w/ all necessary piping and mounting assemblies
-Vortech Mondo Bypass/BOV valve
-Steeda Powerpipe
-Seimens 42lbs injectors
-PMAS MAF calibrated for the Seimens 42lbs injectors
-3.33 pulley
-A Goodyear Gatorback belt to fit the setup
-The oil feed/return lines
-All the other misc. bolts/screws/nuts/hoses/connectors/band clamps needed
He says all I should need is a fuel pump and a tune. I think I will need different (colder) spark plugs as well.

My question(s) are:
-Is the Vortech Mondo valve too much? Vortech recommends for 12psi+ but has a rating of 650+ cfm @ 10psi??
-Which fuel pump setup is best for 400-500 hp? I have read very mixed reviews about the SVT Focus pump being able to support 500+ rwhp in some cases, where in others they max out at 360rwhp? What could be causing this difference? The use of a Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump?
-What spark plugs do you all recommend?
-What do you guys think about this setup? Is there anything you would recommend I change or upgrade?
-Lastly, is 400rwhp smart to shoot for with a daily driver on a stock block and stock internals? What is the weakpoint that everyone says the motors are only good to 4XX rwhp? What should I be most concerned about upgrading in the future? The pistons/rods/crank, or those three plus the block?

I realize these are a lot of questions, and I am sure some of them have been answered before and I have searched for some, but having all of the answers in one post will help me a lot. Thanks!

Oh, btw my current mods are: MGW short throw shifter, Bassani O/R X-pipe, Borla Stingers catback, and 4.10s. I also have Maximum Motorsports subframe connectors waiting to be installed. Hopefully I have given enough information for anyone trying to help me in my search for more knowledge :icon_salut:

The mondo is not too much.
A 255 intank should be good enough.
Autolite 103 or NGK TR6. I like the Autolites better.
You should hit 400 easely. You can do a throttle body.
Try to keep it between 400-420. It will last with no problems.

400-425 is ideal for a stock shortblock daily driver, not the ragged edge, but getting there.

autolite 103s are what i run and i havent had a problem in my daily driven vortech setup.

i'd run the mondo and not worry. i would throw that calibrated MAF away and get a Lightning 90mm and a REAL tune.

with all that said a PROFESSIONAL tune at 10psi you should see NEAR 400 through a 5 speed.

Thanks for your input and I plan on getting a real tune, haven't figured out who to take it to yet though (I live in Maryland and I have an SCT SF3 handheld tuner so I wanted to find someone who uses SCT and knows enough about modular motors and Vortechs). And why do you recommend the Lightning 90mm MAF over the PMAS one? What is so much better about it or what is so much worse about the PMAS?

Cool thanks for your input. I was debating whether or not to get a throttle body/plenum setup before installing everything and getting it tuned. If I do, I was planning on getting the BBK 78mm throttle body/plenum one piece combo. It's cheaper and larger than the Accufab, Dragon, etc. ones I have seen.

I'm glad to hear I will be fine using the Mondo, that was one of my main concerns, and honestly I would like to be able to say my car makes 400rwhp rather than 3XXrwhp, but I think 390-400 would be acceptable and obtainable as long as it can hold together for another year or two til I will have enough to forge the internals.

didnt realize it was a PMAS, all i seen was calibrated MAF, like pro-m or c&l is what i had in mind. the PMAS is perfectly fine.

the BBK plenum/tb setup is nice.....

Yea, and really high quality, I've installed one.
425 to the tires on a stock 03 bottom end is pushing it honestly. Yea, it would handle it, but If you need the car as a daily I would try to keep it to 390-400 to be on the safe side. If you dont mind popping the engine, go for it though. 425 is 450-460 flywheel, and that's right at what they're supposed to be able to handle
