ok so im getting ready to do my pi swap soon. ive already got the heads and intake and all that(actually a whole 02 motor) but im wanting to put cms stage 2 n/a cams in aswell my ? is i've heard on other forums that these cams respond well to nitrous and i was wanting to get some opionions before i spend the money i dont think it would reall make that much difference spray or no spray as far as the cams go i was planning on having two tunes for it one for street(all motor) and strip ( spray) do you guys see a problem with this setup. any advice is appreciated




also what do you guys think it will run in a 1/4 my best time is 13.8 @102 spinnin bad like a 2.2 60'(street tire)

70mm bbk TB, c&l plenum, o/r x pipe, slp lm1, underdrive crank pulley, and a 100 shot


so with my pi swap and cams, and a drag radial what would you guys guess at????

I know guys who ran mid-high 12's with PI swap and VT/Cushman stage 1's and no spray so with what you have you should easily be in the low 12's maybe high 11's with traction and good driving.

I ran high twelves with a low mileage '03 pi motor 4.10's and drag radials :headbang:

keith, you should see mid to low 12s with that setup and good driving, instead of a X i would get longtubes while your doing your headswap. thats what i did. also i would get a 75mm.

what suspension work

factory tune?

and what drag radials?

and the underdrive pully isnt worth it.

with the spray and some good driving you could see high 11s...probably low to mid 12s most likely.

11's a guy had spray with my set up a p51 and an auto and he ran 11.7's

thanks guys im goin with a nitto 555 315/35/17 dr. so i should have no problem runnig sray with the cams i chose???

and i want to run long tubes but my car is way to low to the ground so I was thinkin just shortys because my current setup is about 3/4 inch off the ground(3 in drop) :/ low i know but i looks sooooooooo good

If you have a 5sp you can go with the Basanni Mid length headers.... don't sit as low as long tubes but still add nice #'s over stock or shorts.

yea its a 5spd and ive heard different opionions on headers some say its not worth the money but i dont know how a more free flowing exhaust wouldn't help. i just wanna spend my money in the right places that will get me the most hp for my money!!!!!

be careful with aftermarket cams for this swap too. I made 24 more rwhp on the dyno with the pi camshafts than the comps. I also had pvt with the comps and had to scrap a shortblock.

thanks also where is the keyway supposed to be for safe mode 12 or 9 o'clock

I would just be careful with the cams. The tuner here said he is not sold on aftermarket cams fro the 2v. I have seen some guys make big power with them though. Mine were degreed and setup with the beehive springs too. All im saying is be careful

You should be fine with the CMS cams,
Comps you need to be careful with and make sure you do a perfect job. They grind in 5 degrees of advance in so people will get PTV if not careful.

I've only seen one person ever post an issue with VT/CMS cams.
