This autocross featured a challenging chain of cones laid out on a road course! Going into the event, I felt like I had lost a step relative to my competitors. I needed a win to stay in contention for a CAM-T Season Championship. I was up against a fast driver who beat me the last two times we competed at this venue.

This video shows my first & fastest runs and the adjustments I made to get my mojo back!

This event featured 2 super-fast sweepers! I knew I wouldn’t be able to get my IRS-swapped 2000 GT to the top of the podium without attacking both sweepers aggressively. Sweepers are a common autocross element, so I took this opportunity to share some tips for finding speed in sweepers.

This video shows my first & fastest runs, and details my strategy for getting my Mustang through sweepers as fast as possible.

At this event, a tricky trap element tripped up a number of novices. A trap is a slow element that comes after a fast element. In order to take home a trophy, I’d have to make sure my IRS-swapped 2000 GT didn’t fall into the trap set by the course designers.

This video shows my first & fastest runs, and shares tips for tackling trap elements.

At this event, I was slowing down too much in multiple elements on multiple runs. I refer to that as “over-slowing”, and it can cost drivers a ton of time on an autocross course.

This video shows all 3 of my runs, covers where and how I was over-slowing & offers tips to help you avoid scrubbing off too much speed.

At a recent autocross, attacking a fast slalom correctly was key to finding speed. Having a plan in place for the slalom before I pulled up to the starting line gave me an advantage.

This video explains the importance of pacing off slaloms, breaks down how pacing off a slalom helped me plan my attack strategy for my first run, and shows my fastest run.

The course at this autocross event featured 3 super-fast sections. I used what I refer to as “cue cones” to extend those fast sections and improve my times. It’s a simple trick that can help you find speed.

This video shows my first & fastest runs, and shares how I used cue cones to extend super-fast sections of the course.
