How are you all doing? So, here's what I got going on. Right now I have a near stock 97 GT (only performance mod it has is a Mac Catback.) I have a PI Intake (I believe it has a plastic crossover though, dont know how bad that is) and PI Cams sitting in the trunk. So, My goal with this car ultimately is 400WHP. Not anytime soon, but building it up over the next couple years. What is the best path to take with this? Right now, I think if I do the PI Cams, PI Intake, Headers, Catted X-Pipe, a good tune, and a supercharger I should be able to hit it. How much can the stock internals take before they break?

They can handle around 400rwhp if im not mistaken.. Youve got the right idea. PI Intake, PI cams, Long tube headers..... you want longtubes not shorties..... and a supercharger, good tune and maybe even stage II NPI cams and you could be very close to that mark

man..that was a hell of a response...looks like youve learned some shit

Yep..pi intake, pi cams, long tubes, o/r mid pipe, a blower with a good amount of boost should get you close.

Probably be better off with a full pi swap and a set of blower cams with the blower.

Should get you to the 400 mark with a conservative amount of boost.

I wouldn't want to run a pi swapped car with boost every day. You're asking for problems when you combine that rise in compression with boost on pump gas. If this guy wants a 2v DD with 400 rwhp he should probably get a good used pi motor and a blower with an intercooler and lontubes.

The new ones do but so can npi intakes. I was also saying that running boost on a car that had the pi intake rigged on there like many of you do with high temp rtv (because you lack the correct heads for the intake) would be a bad because you could blow all that rtv you used to get the intake to fit. LOOK when you run boost with higher cr you run into problems with detonation because of increased heat. It would be possible to do a lot easier with water methonal injection.

But without the PI heads you dont get the same rise in compression rates as with the PI Heads, at least from what Ive gathered.

you can run boost with a pi swapped car...just run less boost and timing....but it will take less boost to make the number
