i've been driving my car around lately just a little before I was going to get the tune done and finally got a new compression tester due to the blue smoke coming out the tails. After checking it, i only have 60 to 70 in each cylinder. look like i'll have to pull it back out and redo the rings. i've tried using the old marvel mystery oil trick with no luck to try to get them to seat. anyone have any other ideas on what to try before i pull her back out? it has 120 miles on it.

rings seat in the first 20 minutes, there is no reason to put miles on the motor. best way to do it is varied rpm and let the motor decel the car to create a lot of vacuum

if the car was running too fat it could have washed the rings, you won't know anything without taking it apart

shake the hell out of the can for about 15 mins, to mix everything up, then just pour it into the crankcase and drive.. no need to drain after, just add it to a fresh oil change and be done... its worth a shot and only cost about 10 bucks at wal mart...

Old school trick was marborol mystery oil in the cylinder. Not a whole lot. But enough to get them to break in right.
