I am going to Laure race way here in Ohio and I am going to drag my 98 convertible Cobra for the first time. I have taken everything I own out of the car and will take out the spare tire. I am shooting for high 13's, is that reasonable? Anything I can do as far as performance mods to make it a little faster maybe low 13's? I am planing for a better exhaust maybe with an X pipe, and a CAI. My neighbor raced his Dodge last weekend and put down a 14.20 at 93mph. It has a cummins that has been hopped up. I am looking to beat him at least! Any advice is welcome! :thumb:

How much more does the vert weigh? Any advice on launching it off the line? I am planing to do a good burnout to heat the tires up but I am not sure what is the best way to launch it, like say what RPM? Any advice would be great!

Well, on street tires you cant really launch hard.

I would say try and slip the clutch quickly at like 2500 or so.

Basically, you need to find the limit of your tires.

You want to accelerate as fast as possible without spinning.

The vert probably has 150~ or so pounds on a coupe....I believe theyre like 3450...but im just estimating.

Most people will say just a quick spin with street tires but I would say to heat them up for like 5 seconds.

Your really gonna have to get the hang of it own your own at the track

if your using street tires you dont want to heat them up. It has the opposite effect as with Drag Radials or Slicks. Give them a few turns just to get any dirt/rocks off them but other then that you dont want to do to much.
