Me and my mom have been throwing around some ideas on what to do with my car. I'm going off to college in a couple months and my mom wants to be sure that my car is something I'm not going to have to worry about. She would like to trade my car for something with lower mileage, but I don't think that adding another payment is a great idea. We started leaning towards maybe rebuilding my motor or replacing it and doing a little suspension work to get it up to par and swap the rear gears for something a little more friendly for interstate driving. Motor wise, we're sort of lost. What can I expect on costs to have my motor rebuilt? What all needs to actually be replaced in a rebuild? I really don't have the tools or place to rebuild it myself, so this is going to be someone else's job so take that into consideration. What do you guys think? I don't have a TON of money to spend on this, but I don't want to just throw the cheapest crap on it either. I want this done right. My main goal is to have a reliable car, not a stupid fast race car. I would like to build a new motor with a LMR shortblock and Trickflow topend, but I'm not sure if we can swing that. Of course, I have no idea what a rebuild would cost so that might actually be a better plan. Thanks for your help guys
