what will 4.10s do for me

what do you use the car for. daily driver or weekend warrior. if it's a daily and mostly hwy driving i say go with the 373's. i have 410's and @75 i'm turning arround 2000 rpm's and i still get about 18 mpg's. for a daily driver, 410's with a 5 speed, 1st is basically useless. but you'll hook at the track. i wish i had the 373's personally. but you'll be happy with either. don't forget the 05's have 300hp and we only have 215

I say get the 4:10s. I have them on my 96 and they are fun. I wouldn't worry about traction that much because even with our cars stock we have no traction out of the hole. That's why man invented Drag Radials/Slicks. Just my .02...

ha, you think 1st is nonexistant with 373's, you should try it with 410's

Brand new gears, yes. There is a 500 mile "break in" to let the gears set properply. Change the diff fluid and check settings then your good to go! With used gears, put them in, line up, hope they don't whine .

Every time i hear "break in" i feel that something is wearing, like a flat tappet cam for example. I just don't see gears following the same sort of break in, i've seen used gears and they don't really look worn so idk.

Well you need to do some maintenance it sounds like cuz mine does that with 3:08's have you cleaned your maf?... It made my car so much more faster,responsive and easier to peel out in.

Your car needs help, do a normal tune. Clean MAF, replace plugs/wires/cap/rotor etc. My car with 2.73s always chirped into 2nd. With 3.73s it's spinning in 2nd .

Why is it between 3.73 and 4.10 gears yall know they make 3.90 gears right? That is a good combo of both and you wont run out in the top end as bad .02.

most people prefer to stick with Ford gears.
