*What would cause a clutch pedal to bounce up and down?

I just got a 96 gt and the only issues I can find is the car is the clutch pedel bounces when released what can cause this to happen?

I'm tuned into this too, I have had the same issue recently and haven't been able to figure it out. It happens the worst when i need to downshift.

Can you describe a little more what the issue is - what do you mean by bounces?

The pedal moves in and out like 1/2. Will slap the bottom of your foot if you hold it close enough

That sounds a little rough, my initial thought about the problem I'm having is chatter along the flywheel.... Yours sounds a little more intense. It could be a stretched clutch cable, not holding enough tension. Just a thought

That's what I kinda thought Is maybe the cable is stretched out cause it drives fine no noises a soon as you set your foot on the clutch it goes away

You can also move the pedal with playl in and out about an inch by hand

Could also be the flywheel.

Its nothing good for sure. I would stop driving it and get off the ground to get some eyes on what it is before it really becomes a problem. When my throw out bearing went out I could feel it shaking through the pedal and hopefully that is all it is for you.

Ended up had a after market quadrant and the cable was super loose so I put it on the next setting up and fixed

It has a new clutch in it also I need to get a quadrant cause I got it tight and it grabs so high it doesn't engage all the way but I'm gonna pull the cable off and look in there. Should the clutch fork move at all

You have a firewall adjuster?

I just installed one today and everything seems to be good now
