Hey yall! Back at it again. My fiances 94 mustang gt, both the transmission and clutch are gone. Ive priced just about everything our for a rebuild, and its looking cheaper to just replace the whole assembly minus bell housing. Are there any easy ish swaps that wouldn't require too much modification? Im mainly looking for advice on what route to take seeing as somehow both the transmission and clutch went at the same time (car sat for 7 years without being driven)

Transmission and clutch??? DAYUM!
Yea. I was hoping it'd just be the clutch tbh. Now I gotta worry about transmission pricing if he wants it back on the road. He was talking about doing a Trans swap whether it be a tremendous 3650 or a T45. Id honestly rather put in a regular ol T5 since its bone stock in the engine bay

If the car is stock I can't see a reason to spend money on an upgraded transmission of any kind. If you can find a used t5 then run with that and you should be fine. I would keep it simple.

I think the plan for his car is to make it a nice, powerful show car. Its a really clean example with just over 100k miles. For the time being tho, were saving up for a truck

The 94/95 GT T5 is hard to find in good condition because that specific transmission was only made for those two years. One from a V6 Mustang from 94-98 will go right in and being from a V6, if you find one in a salvage yard they are often still good. However, the gear set in those is not quite the same as a V8 for 94 & 95. The gears they used go match the ones found in an 86-89 Fox GT except for the ratio for fifth gear and the length of the input shaft. Yours can be rebuilt of course.

There is no good way to bolt a T-45 or a TR3650 to a Small-Block engine, so rule that out.
A new Ford-Style TKX will go in, but it needs the bell housing, may need some cross member work and possibly some driveshaft length modification to go in a 94/95 GT.
