whats 5.0 worth

I had ordered a 5.0 engine from a guy. He said it was complete from oil pan to throttle body ,all accessories (exept alt, compressor, and starter) from a 95 with only 70,000 miles on it. He delivered it for $750. When I got it more was missing: both accessory brackets with all accessories including ignition coil, the throttle body was rusted bent and sticking, the motor had the milage wrote on the intake(116,138) it was completely rusted and when I removed the tape from the throttle body a little water pored out. I had to take it back and he did give my money back. Would you give $750 for this? It looks better in the pic than it did in person cause you can't see all the rust.

Did you look at the engine before you bought it? I would say a completely stock engine would be ~$300

Not for that motor.. but for a stock 95 motor with 71xxx miles on it i sold it for 800 and I sold another 95 motor with over 100xxx miles for 750.

Well normally I wouldn't have bought it without lookin first, but the guy was someone that my brother in law knew. He had no problem with me gettin my cash back. I just had to take it 1 hour 45 mins away. I actually seen a post on c-list that nite for the same motor and he was askin 800. I got a good laugh out of that...

dude look on cl find you a nice short block for cheap but check the bearings and cylinder walls and save the rest of your cash for some better heads that is if you already have another set of stock heads
