Looking at a used pair of edelbrock performer heads .

Or a brand new set of AFR Enforcer heads .
You can get the new AFR for about $1200
Or say a used set of heads .
Mine is just basically a stock motor 302 .

To me.it seems like a brand new head is the way to go .not haveing to bring them in and have them checked and decked .

Just not sure in the long run of I wanted to say port the heads what one whould turn out better in the long run.

It depends on what you’re planning to do with the car. Are you going to replace the intake and cam? If not then it’s not worth it to get heads.

What size AFR head?
What hardware and condition are the Eddies in?
Price on eddies?
What are you building?
Very vague question?

Are you going to notch your pistons or buying new ones?
Add that to the cost.
Do you plan on upgrading the hardware in the new heads?
When you start adding things up that 1200 becomes 2k very quickly.
Im a big fan if AFR and have ran there 165 185 and now the 190 so im a bit biased but i wanted to point out that things arent as cheap as advertised once you get into the nickels and dimes.

Yes you do. The 165 would be more suited for what your doing.
My old 165 combo made 325 to the wheels just to give you an idea.

Notching pistons ain’t the end of the world . Mine are notched for the performer rpm’s on my car now but they have larger valves . You can make good power with the 165’s though

I got a pair of as cast blueprint heads for $1000. Since then the price has gone up. They seem to be good heads. I've been running them since spring of 2022. No issues. On my 331 they made 368hp 398tq at the rear wheels. They do have oversized intake valve so clearance might be an issue on stock piston with a decent amount of cam lift.
