whats a good short block

so for the last week i been lookin at short blocks
i kno i wann go turbo but thats no goin to happen soon but i wont every thing in the bottom end
to handle the power. so wha would be the best block with out blow in to much money

max boost will be 15lbs its not goin to be a DD but i wont it to be able to be a DD. it might see the track every blue moon

Iron OR aluminum block will work (if someone says it wont please prove to me it wont), You have alot of options but you can look at the ever popular MMR, Livernois other the like. You dont need anything crazy, a cast crank WILL work, get a good forged rod and piston and be done. Dont build for 2 years, you never know what will happen next.

Is it an option to build the shortblock yourself? I saved tons of money by just buying a rotating assembly, having my block bored/honed/decked and doing the install myself.
