i have a locknut on my back rear rim and i broke my tool to get it off with.ive tried everything to get it off pipewrench, visegripps, just cant get a grip on it..i even tried sockets but they just keep stripping the nut because the locknut is rounded.is there a certain type of locknut i can get it off with, any suggestions on how to get it off without screwing my wheel up?any input would be greatly appreciated..

I have a set of sockets [designed specifically for the job] that you tap on with a hammer to get them started theres about 6 sizes, as you undo, they are actually winding on, they grip the locking nut and undo it, if you can buy them here, you should get them from a good tool shop near you.
Before today i've used a chisel and lump hammer just to loosen them [damn those air guns] but you need to be very careful.

How true, before i bought the proper sockets i had a few AF sockets with old locknuts still firmly embedded.
