As some of you may or may not know I recently totaled my 2000 4X4 ranger in an accident and ended up getting an 07 WRX STI to replace it with. I think that across the web msg boards some were questioning my Mustang faith fullness w/ out quite coming out and saying it. Anyway here is my story.

Driving home from work last night with the STI I stopped at Micky D's for something quick to eat, went to the drive thru but had to pull up by the front door to wait for my order b/c they said it would take a few mins. As I'm waiting a young kid that works there (id say in his later teens) was walking back inside with a few of his friends/co workers and he see's me sitting there in the car. I'm sitting there w/ my drivers side window down and as he walks by me he gives me the :nice: and says wow very nice...I leaned out the window and said....yeah but you should see the Mustang, it would destroy this thing.... the look on his face was epic it was something along the lines of  or . They all just stood there and didn't really know what to say, it was as if I took his dream car then stomped all over it, or slapped his mother in front of him. There were a few other things said as casual covo car related but I dont recall what exactly, but I thought the whole thing was quite amusing...... carry on

STI's are awesome cars. Congrats.

I've had a couple of WRX's and would absolutely love to have either a WRX or STI parked next to my mustang...

its a lot of fun its a great car. To give it its credit it would hand the Mustang its ass on a twisty road and it can be made very fast as far as as fast or faster then my Mustang but they are $$$$ to mod from what I have been seeing. I'm going to do some things to it but for the most part its going to stay pretty much the way it is. I want to retain the decent gas mileage it has now. I was figuring on doing a Stage 1 tune, exhaust and a Cold air kit. That will probably be the extent of it.

cob stage 1 kits go for what heads/cam/intake go for on stangs. lookin around $1500 for a good boost in hp numbers. sti's are awesome machines congrats on pickin one up.

word of advice, going 100mph on gravel roads is one of the most fun and scary things i've ever done is a subaru, take care of it and it'll keep you good and safe!

I have not really pushed it yet as far as driving it but it is fun regardless. When I get more used to the AWD thing I'll start to have more fun w/ it

nice!

dude, i coulda sworn the intercoolers on the STi's don't come with that lettering. I think I remember reading somewhere people spray paint it on, to make it stand out. I could be wrong though, but it looks like sex! When I do the intercooler on the roush, I'm going to be doing the Roush lettering on it :)

I'm not sure if it was put on there or if it was standard. It was first a company car and then it was sold to a lawyer so neither one seem like the type to do that. But I don't know to much about these cars yet either. The only thing done to it that I know of is the powder coat done on the rims. I would like to get a another set of rims and tires for the summer and keep the ones I have now w/ the the snow tires on them for the winter. Some of the powder coat is chipping off so they would make a good winter set of rims. And if it was spray painted on it would not clog the intercooler in anyway.

The lettering on the intercooler is factory, a few of my friends are really into Scoobs and they all had that on their STi's before they junked 'em and went to front mounts hahaha.

Awesome car man! I read the thread over on Stangnet the other day very briefly and didn't have time to comment, but I love Subaru's and I'd love one as a DD. They are great cars, especially for our northern winters. I'm sure you get a lot more snow up by you than we get in NJ, but I don't even bother taking the cover off my car in the winter. It just stays tucked away until the salt clears.

i learned the hard way that you CANT shift 4WD cars like a mustang. I ended up buying my buddy a new second and third gear on his subaru for my 10 min trip around the block. Not worth trying to chirp tires in a rex LOL

I had an awd turbo Talon and an awd turbo eclipse! they are def fun to drive! when I lived in Connecticut I had a nice set of nitto's on mine and it's great in the winter when it's snowing and all the SUV's think they are the shit driving in shitty weather... and me blowing past them in my DSM I miss those cars but they are far too old! and far to expensive to fix when they break due to the lack of parts now available for them...
