Where to buy? EEC/96 GT?

My mechanic has a 96 up @ his shop. The owner's car won't start & my mechanic says it is the EEC. He's found 1 locally for around $300. I'm not sure why, but Bobby was trying to find another one. I think the owner hopes it might be cheaper? I have no idea.

I've tried looking & can't find it. Where do I find one? Might a junkyard 1 work? Thanks!!
