i got a nice whole in mine cause someone really wanted my racing helmet in the back seat.

Buying a top and headliner isn't an issue but having it installed will not be cheap, do you guys plan on installing it yourselves or taking it to a shop?

Doing a top on a Mustang is pretty easy. I worked at an upholstery shop last summer and we did 2 SN95 tops and a Fox top along with a couple S197's. SN95 is pretty straightforward... should have done a write-up while I worked there but I'm crappy forum member haha.

I would love to go cloth...but aren't those more expensive? Those are from the 03-04 cobra?

This one?

How can you tell if it's the motor or hydraulic that is messed up for the top guys?

I can unlock the top...and use it and it pulls it completely back and I just have to push it down slightly to seal completely down. But when I try to lift it back up from the down position, I hear the gear turning sound (like the motor maybe is trying but hydraulic isn't lifting???) but the top doesn't move for anything. Ideas? I don't know how to tell which is wrong.

Hydraulic would be much easier lol

Or the motor:

Been reading up on tops recently and the consensus is, if you can afford the cloth - get it - especially if you are going black. The color is much deeper and the look is classier. My top leaks at the window, has several holes and the wires popped out and are hanging down around the windows. Too bad it's the summer of endless rain because it's been sitting in my garage a lot. But, I'm saving up for the cloth top.

I've seen top motors on Corral and eBay, prices were not bad.

I don't have a top anymore, but what I do have is the motor, lines, actuators, and frame that I would be willing to sell for cheap. All you would have to do is get the top and those are easy to come by. If your interested PM me with more info. its off a low mileage 95 GT but will work on any 94-04 car. I also have all the weatherstripping, molding, and trim parts if needed.

Yeah I seen the cloth and they just look way cleaner, deeper and honestly classier. I just want to make sure I get the right parts.

When I have to replace mine again I am definitely going with the cloth top. I put a new vinyl top on in 03 just when the cobras came out and wanted to change immediately after seeing how nice they were.
