Well my tranny will be getting pulled sometime next week, so she will be up and running again. Except this time with the built AODE, 3600 stall, and a bigger cooler. The next step on this thing is to do some blower cams. I really wasn't happy with the PI cam swap, I think they have too much lift for a setup like mine and not enough duration. I will be doing blower cams along with some new valve springs. I just wanted to see if anybody had any suggestions as to which cams and if you had results with them? I pretty much have it down to:

Crower stage 2 blower cams:

CMS stage 2.5 blower cams:
http://www.cushmanmotorsports.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1710

Or some other sort of custom grind. All feedback is welcome!

I'm doing great man.

Uhh my car has been running better. Still had some issues but fixed a good amount of them. I'm finally giving in and saving up for mods. Hopefully going to have my Vortech bought and installed by summer time.

Ive been busy with my new job and I started going to the gym and all. I have my swings when I post then I don't.

You still on AIM? (InFatesHands88)

Look up Modular Power House. They make blower cams, some specifically for the Centri blowers.

I've heard a lot of bad things about MPH cams. My friend has them in his GT and he hates them. He's getting rid of them as soon as he can.

Just what i've heard, that they aren't that great. I'll get more details.

Eh I've heard nothing but awesome things about MPH :dunno:
To each his own, you could also look at getting some custom cams.

But definately cant go wrong with the Crowers!

Do people actually make blower specific cams for NPI heads?

Im sure a decent set of blower cams would completely change my car...Im might actually make more power up top.

But I dont know if its worth it to spend all that money on them

hey, give Drew a call.... He's doing the heads and cams on my car...

(303) 364-2904

tell him what head set up you have (npi, PI, PI P&P, etc.) and tell him Chris sent you. If he asks which Chris, say the one thats doing the Triton V10.

He will give you great advice. If you have P&P PI heads going in, he has PERFECT cams for a blower. He says the company (i believe its FRPP) wont give out the specs on them (lift, duration, etc.) but they work amazing for 4.6L with blowers and PIs.

Hey,

I've got a set of Houston Performance blower cams for npi heads that I want to sell. I decided to stay N/A and wait for the Trick flow heads.
They are $600 cams, I am asking $400 +shipping. They are still in the boxes.

Got any information on them?

What kind of gains can be expected?

Do they require springs?

Can't go wrong with the Crower or Cushman/VT off the shelf grinds and i've never heard anyone who wasn't happy with a set of MPH grinds....

Crower makes NPI blower grinds also.

I've got the St2 VT cams in my garage for when i get around to actually working on my car someday but when i talked to Scott he told me the Crower were slightly more aggressive then his and both made insane power over stock PI cams. Can't go wrong with any of them and i'm betting you see a solid 30-50hp gain.

yeah as of right now I'm leaning toward the Crower state 2 npi blower cams. I'm still going to make some calls. The only reason I dont like MPH is because back a year ago when I was first doing cams Tim is the one who told me that stock PI cams would perform wonders on my car and yadda this about them and yadda that. Well was he wrong let me tell you

lol...why do you say that?

You didnt really feel much?

Did your boost drop any?

My car feels like it loses top end with the npi cams...like its dead above 5500...I know some cams would wake my car up

well i picked up like next to nothing hp wise and didnt lose any boost. Tim claimed that I would pick up 20-30rwhp. The PI cams are just too much lift with less duration. which is exactly what you dont want with boost. you want more duration than our stock non pi cams

well i did another mod along with the cams at the same time so im guessing around 10rwhp. but either way the cams alone were not even close to what Tim claimed. which is why i dont really think i want to go through him. Also, who would want to go through someone who wont even tell you what specs cam he is giving you? if im spening $800 on cams you better believe I want to know the specs
