Im going to be putting an explorer intake mani on my car and a cam also. My question is which cam. Im not planning on putting in anything big. Its a daily driver and im keeping the mods fairly simple. All bolt ons minus heads. I was thinking ecam or tfs1. anyone have any opinons or other suggestions.

I seen write up in MM&FF about that cam a few years back, they had great success with it.

Any aftermarket cam and stock E7 heads, you will most likely lose performance.

Believe it or not, the stock cam is not the worst thing in the world.

the heads cant make use of the extra lift. Therefore creating problems with loosing low end. You'd normally see large high end gains a head and cam swap, but when you just do a cam, the heads can't keep up, and die out after higher rpm's. So basically you loose the ass end of the car below 3k rpms and it will mess up at the top end

Oh God please don't be one of those people that want to install the cam so you get that sound. :nonono: Put the money towards something that will make your car faster! Unless you are getting the intake for a STEAL I would spend the money on a better intake. A Performer or bigger IMO. Then save up for some heads.

would it be better if you stayed with the stock cam, and put 1.7 rockers on it?

that and degree it. Theres a guy on stangnet running high 12's on a car with worked e7's, degreed stock cam w/ cobra 1.7's, ported stock intake, explorer tb, 95 gt maf, 5 speed w/4.10s on ET streets. He was cutting 12.7s.

i wouldnt not put the cam in for the sound that would be dumb. im worried about performance. Im getting the explorer upper and lower for 125. If im not gunna get the performance out of a cam bc of stock heads than im not gunna change the cam and im not planning on porting the heads or anything bc if i have to pull the heads off im going to put something else back on. Is it worth putting the 1.7 on and which ones would everyone seuggest getting

proforms are affordable. Ford racings are good, the best I've had alot of experience with would be gold series race rockers from crane. I have a set on the drag car, things are sweet as hell
