As time gets rolling here, I am getting further and further on my build. I will be sending out my blower to be upgraded in the next week, and hopefully ordering my CMS cams (just need to see if I will go stage 2.5 or 3). My next question is about my manifold. A while back when my car was in the works I bought the Livernois PI manifold kit which comes with the adaptor plates and all. It says on their website that they modify the manifold for this kit. I am currently going with ported/polished PI heads now. I keep calling Livernois to see if this "modified" PI manifold will work fine with PI heads, but i cant get any luck getting them. Or even more importantly, since my goals are around 600rwhp, would you guys just recommend selling the manifold and picking up a different manifold? I dont want any crazy $2,000 manifold. thanks

Mike

Ported P51 from Fox lake is about the only one besides a stock or "race" manifold i would use on yours. You will love teh P51 !!!!

I am reading nothing but bad things about the p51 and bullit manifolds. Over on modulardepot there are atleast 4 threads about guys who lost power by adding these manifold, and who do have built motors and boost...

the p51 isa PA manifold. I hate the bullit. If you look at a P51 its basically a big shoe box full of air waiting to get crammed in your engine lol. Its a great set up, does weight a little bit and can get warm at times but a buddy of mine with some spray loves his and this year he put a pro~charger on it and made KILLER hp, i wish i knew the pulley size and spec of the blower to give you true numbers but i cant get a hold of him right now. Stay stock pi or P51 ported in my eyes.

I think I'm just going to stick with my stock PI. The second I can sell my crower blower cams I'm getting CMS stage 2.5's (or 3's), most likely 2.5's and sending my heads to MMR to get everything done. Then off to the forged rotating assembly :)

nah man. I already have PI heads which I am sending out to MMR for a stage 3 port/polish, and as soon as I sell my crower stage 2 non pi blower cams I am getting CMS stage 3 blower cams. I currently own a stock PI manifold, but am reading good stuff about the Edelbrock manifold

awesome. thats what I'm going to do. I'm going to run that manifold with MMR's adaptor plate so I can still use my Accufab throttle body/plenum setup. I am also going to go with MMR's high flow fuel rails for the Edelbrock manifold.

I read your OP and the first thing popped into my head was the edelbrock intake. Good choice, and very reasonable. Another good one that nets more torque is the new TFS intake. I am hoping to get to experiment on the dyno with that one and the heads sometime this summer. Good luck, always liked your car.

thanks a lot for the nice words. I got lucky and am selling my crower cams to a buddy on january 7th, so at that time I can order my CMS cams, and send the cams/valvesprings/heads out to MMR for their stage 3 job. Progress is rolling on in!

you'll need to modify the linkage to use the Accufab like what is shown in mine.

all you need to do is buy the $70 adaptor plate from MMR and you can bolt any aftermarket throttle body/plenum right up.

What blower are you upgrading to?

Believe it or not, the stock style upper plenum can act as a restriction. You would be better off going with an elbow like the one Dalamar is using with a 75mm TB.

My old boss did this same experiment and found that a larger intake elbow performed much better in both NA and boosted trims over an Accufab plenum/75mm TB with adapted to the Victor Jr intake.
