Yeah I'd like to see how much quicker the GTD would be - probably not $200k quicker.it would be interesting to see how it would do on the ring against the GTD time. I don't hate the look of the GTD and it is hard to argue that it will be lighter with all the CF and probably handle better with suspension system they put in the GTD. I imagine the saleen would be close to the 2020 gt500 I drove but with a 100 hp more.
oh yea that is a racecar you can take on the street, the saleen is a street car you can take on the track. No doubt both will be fast as FFFFF but consider just how much less unsprung weight the GTD has with the weels/driveline/ect and suddenly a few more hp isn't gonna matter. Then consider the extra weight in cornering and with that rear suspension setup on the GTD if it was tuned correctly I could still see it killing the saleen on a good curvy track. I mean the GTD was designed for the track from the start, the saleen they converted it into a more track ready car but it is not an apples/apples comparison for performance by any means.I had to research the GTD to understand why its $325k. The racecar technology built into this thing is insane! Im not sure I could justify the purchase even if I had disposable money. I feel like the Saleen looks better
having driven the gt3rs I can confirm that it is a hell of a racecare. I handled like a dream but I just wish it had a little more power as I remember I thought I was screaming down the straight away untouchable and then when we got to the end of it the driver told me the ferarri 488 gtb was going to pass us. I drove that car the next year and I have to say I though it handled just as well but did have more power. Now the mclaren xtreme driving events had one the first year and I really wanted to drive it but the day I arrived they said it was broken, again. They made it sound like they had a hell of a time keeping it on the track and it only lasted one year.Saleen for sure , if I’m spending 325k on a car I’m getting Gt3rs or mclaren 765LT for sure wouldn’t have a ford badge unless it’s ford Gt and not the eco boost variant
