I want to add a supercharger to my car but can't make up my mind lots of reviews read/research. I plan on running this on a 331, afr185 heads, cobra intake, FTI custom cam. I currently have a 255 fuel pump, lightning 90mm mass air, 42 injectors new in box sitting in my garage. I would like to get a "tuner" kit cuz I already have fuel stuff. What do you guys recommend? I am not a huge track guy just want some performance for the weekend street time the car gets. At what rpm do the superchargers start making their power? hope its not a dumb question but I have never owned a supercharged car.

Thanks in advance

procharger, but again this is a dumb question because in the end it's your own choice and everyone here is going to tell you what their opinion is and it's a huge battle vortech vs kb vs procharger vs paxton in the end s/c is a s/c it's going to be a good power gain.

thank god you said that this early in the thread, or there would have been 5 pages of people saying they recommend whatever they personally run. As said, in the end, a vortech, procharger, kb, or novi will max out your motor and be more than enough to put you in the 500rwhp range. Each has its ups/downs. I would say the limiting factor is your wallet

not to be mean i just get tired of the same question, if you search you can find MORE than enough threads all stating both pro's and cons of every supercharger.. it's a highly debated question and the answer is in the wallet :. says in a deep tone .: "whats in your wallet"

honestly man, read read read that is all i can say and decide for yourself we can help with specific questions like whats the max impeller speed of a s/c unit and by the max impeller speed you can figure out how much hp you can pull at so many rpms by an equation i use so stuff like that are questions that we can help the most with but going with " what supercharger should i choose" well like blown97stanger said we can go back and forth for 5 pages saying do this do this but in the end it's your bill size and your desired output all s/c can get you to 500 with the correct setup..

Yep...pretty much.

Everyones got thier opinion.

Each seems to have its own advantage and disadvantages.

You need to ask yourself what YOU WANT!

Do you want instant torque/power?

Do you want more top end?

Do you want noise?

Do you want tapped or non tapped?

Intercooled?

It really doesnt matter what you go with, anyone will be a huge jump in power but basically and PD blower will have all kinds of lowend grunt vs the centri blowers have better top end.

I personally would say to go with whatever you can find the best deal on

go with a used vortech kit since they seem to be available cheap, make good power with a very simple setup, and are very reliable from what ive seen.

Ok, I have sold and installed/owned a lot of superchargers. ProCharger is my favorite by far, but not for the Sn95's. I really don't like the fact they use the stock serpentine belt to drive the blower. It leads to belt slip and other issues down the road. I really like the novi 2k kit for the sn95's. Between the two kits, paxton and vortech, the paxton has cooler outlet temps and has more potential than an s trim. The paxton also has better bracket kits, jmho. As everyone else has said, read , read, read. Then make up your own mind. I just thought I would throw these few points out there for you to chew on. I've dyno'd and tuned a bunch of blower cars, and really like my D1SC on my convertible fox. but I would have put a Paxton on it if it was an SN95.
