why are my battery terminals allways corroding ?

I cant figure this out i know its not my battery my old battery did it and now my new one of about 4 months is doing it what causes this i cant figure it out

i had the same problem with mine, i also switched the connecting rods that attach to the battery. My old battery leaked and that's why i replaced it, everything was brand new but still corroding and i never found the answer to it. its not a big issue but good luck finding out what causes it

that is what I was going to say.

I would also just recomend upgrading the terminals to some nicer ones that are not as prone to corroding. I got some nice pheonix gold terminals and was suprised how many compliments I got on them at shows.

I have the black and red coated ones from Autozone or O'reillys I can't remember which now. They have been on there for a few years and have had no corroding at all.

If you want to go even cheaper that that, clean the corrosion off with Coke then smear the post and terminals with petroleum jelly.

I just pour soda on it. Usually the sugar coats it after killing off the acid. Rarely have any real problems with it
