why is my car so slow?

i "raced" a friends dads 97 lincoln continental. it has a 4.6 dohc w/ 160k vs my 96 mustang 103k and 4:10's it was basicly from 60 - 90ishand i only stayed like 2 feet ahead of him and was only slowly pulling as we went faster. does this even sound right? any comments are welcome

you really can't have much gear left starting at 60mph anyway. race him from a dig and you should put a few cars on him. those lincolns are boats too

Those Lincolns will run mid 15's...not too far off what your car should run stock.

Wait continental is FWD I am not sure what they run but...still DOHC motor.

i remember when i first got my GT, i raced a buddies nissan maxima and he hung with me. i only put a fender on him. that was back when i was stock. still slow now, just not THAT slow

Hell no your not slow man... With all those contingency stickers you have on your car. Each one is worth what? 5HP minimum? I know Don did a "special" tune for all your stickers.

He's got plenty of gear left at 60

NPI, you car was falling on it's ass. That's why you were "barely" winning.

ugh... but when you think about it a 14.5 for only having like 190 rwhp isn't that bad... ok i'll stop trying to make myself feel better about buying a slow ass car.

Pi gt's are nothing to brag about in stock form either

An NPI with 4.10's= suckfest. You geared a motor with a 4800 rpm power peak to run at 6k, that's why. now get to work, and not with worthless bolt ons.
