wideband install help

i bought an aem uego wideband. first question where should i put the bung? on the long header or in the h pipe? i know to put on the driver side cause cylinder 8 run the leanest. i plan on keeping it in the stang for awhile til i get my turbocoupe done

The instructions will typically advise on sensor location. It will typically be near a collector, with a maximum specified distance from the exhaust ports. I had a dual wideband, and had both of the on the "side" of the pipe (to avoid moisture) about 6 inches from the header flange if I remember correctly. However, I'm old and senile to take that for what it's worth.

paul is right on the location...

in my experiences with my motors (forced induction) cylinders 7 and 8 are the leanest... but you won't pick that up on the wideband as it is the average of the entire bank.

Nope. Don't bother. I did it because it was overkill like the rest of my stupid car.

Not overkill, really handy for tuning and diagnosing issues

Best gauges to have IMO are:
Oil pressure
Water Temp
Vac
Wideband
Trans temp (If auto)

For the overwhelming number of users who don't tune their own stuff, it's overkill. I had it because I had an AEM with dual-channel widebands so my buddy could tune the car. I'm the major exception, not the rule.
