Alright so those freeking manifold bolts will not come off without heat there is just no way, but on our stock manifolds it looks to me like the bolts is form pressed into the manifold meaning you cannot replace that bolt very easily if you cut it off, can anyone just confirm this for me because i've tried the impact gun and a full can of pb blaster on these suckers and they dont budge. Thanks :crazy2:

ha me too broke 2 so far, did you get it cherry red before you went to impact it off, or just use penetrating oil?

penetrating oil..... but that didnt do crap.... you just have to muscle it will the impact.

The reason they get stuck so hard is because moister and the manifold goes from Hot to Cold Hundreds of times.

Keep muscling... just dont brake the bolt because then you have to pull the whole manifold off the motor... thats a Bitch and a 1/2 to do

i had the same problem. The bolts are spun onto a stud that is treaded into the manifold. With the exhaust heat the bolt ceases and the only way to get it off is to heat is to cherry. What i did, is got a strong friend of mine and had him twist so hard on the bolt that it unthreaded the entire stud lol. Then all you do is get a new stud from the autoparts store and spin it back in there. Just keep at it, itll move.

give some penatrating oil a try also. I sprayed it on there every day. My neighbor said that it works better when heated through driving.....wether or not he has any clue what he was talking about i dont know, lol but mine moved after taking his advice. could be a total coincidence though. :p

Yeah I soaked mine in PB blaster for a few hours then muscled it off. It took a socket, swivel, extension, ratchet and 3 foot bar on the end of it to get it off, not pretty.

I broke 2 sockets and an impact socket trying to get just the passenger side bolts off by the starter. What a PITA :rant2:
But I got it finally after working on it and letting it soak in PB blaster :)

had the same prob, i did a thread on it. use a big ass breaker bar, you can make more torque than the mpact. just be easy with it. your gonna have to pull hard but it will come. dont freak when it breaks loose, you will think you just broke the bolt but you didnt. my GT is from the north too, lol

I had the same problem when i was puting my o/r h pipe on and i got 3 of the bolts off and then there was that one that is really hard to get to. Well, let's just say that i broke 3 swivels and striped half of the bolt so had to pay 30 dollars to a mechanic that i know :wall: but hey after all that it was finally off thank god. All i got to tell you is whatever you do don't strip the bolt or it will become a total nightmare :tickedoff:
