well, as the title states, my cobra and i ended up on the shoulder this afternoon on the way to school. im not sure what the problem is exactly, but i think my fuel pump took a crap. here are the details on what happened:
-car shut down when letting off throttle stopping at a red light a mile from breakdown point.
-car started back up unhesitantly and continued fine another 1/4 mile.
-car lost nearly all pedal responce, as if i ran out of gas (car had 1/8 of a tank)
-car shut off and would not start again.
-i coasted to a stop and tried to start 5 or so more times, all resulting in barely making 300rpm and shutting off.
-i checked to make sure connections under the hood were ok. everything seemed fine.
thankfully 5 minutes after this happened, a stang buddy of mine drove past a noticed i was broke down. like a pal he turned around and came to see what was wrong. we then went to a dealership his mom worked at and got a gas can, just in case my gauge was wrong. put a gallon or so in the tank. nothing. then he noticed my fuel pump wasnt making the ever-noticable fuel pump prime noise. we checked the fuel pump fuse and it was fine. the car was towed to a buddies shop where ill drop the tank first thing in the morning. even better, the tow was free (another buddy). can anybody confirm or give any guesses on what the problem is? the car has 107,xxx miles on it.
my car picked a perfect day and time to break down, because my phone is broke and i broke down in a BAD part of town. in other words, id still be pushing it home now if i wanted all windows and parts there in the morning if my friend didnt pass by.
