Test fit the front runners today. They are s550 spec, and I am pleased to say the fit is spot on! It makes me very happy. Tons of clearance around the brakes, and the offset pulls the tire just under the fender. I'll call that a win.

Parts came in today! Ford 3.31 gears, Detroit truetrac, and an install kit from quick performance. I should have my headers back from coating on Monday. I might start putting this thing back together soon.

Like the trac lok ? Clutches getting worn out ? One tire fire sometimes ? If that’s the case it’s not very hard at all . Setting up gears I get someone else to do that part

Yeah, I think it is due. There's some slop in the drivetrain that didn't go away with the new driveshaft, so that just leaves the rear diff...unless there's something off in the T5, but that is certainly outside my wheelhouse.

Pulled the rear end from the car today. It’s always a pleasure doing it in the rocks lol. I tore in to it, the clutches are worn, and there is some damage inside the carrier housing where one of the spider gears ride. I’m not entirely sure if anything in here was broken bad enough to cause the noises I heard. The axles have some slack in the joints and they will be replaced as well.

The oil is really black, and there is evidence of the carrier bearings spinning in their seats inside the housing. Have to look in to that.

Oh man! My headers came back from coating today. I think the wife picked an awesome color, so props to her.

And my power steering rack came in too. Have to weld the new u joint on the steering shaft, and need jam nuts for the tie rod ends.

Ordered an iron diff from a thunderbird. Hopefully that will prevent spinning the diff bearings again. Apparently that’s a big problem with our aluminum IRS’s.

Oh hell yea , that’s really going to 60ft hard . Iron housing was the right move for sure

Spent the day working on the bushing install. Took it up to the car wash to pressure wash everything. got all the bushings removed, and got the new cradle bushings installed. Still have to drill and tap the control arms for grease fittings.

But I am here to say, this FTBR kit is the absolute bomb. Instructions, pictures, parts, everything is top notch. I should have done this years ago.

Also placed my order for new axles. Got the G Force Outlaw axles. Supposed to be the king dingaling of irs axles. We will see!
