Thats a cool grapevine. :) now lets use some good ole fashion common sense, I will take "bad" grease over NO grease anyday. That is just silly. freakin grease is grease(not really but in an automotive application its similar). There is no such thing that is greased "for life" I just put new ball joints in a car that is a 1998 model, I almost destroyed a 12 ton press getting the ball joints out, they were dry as a cobb. It reduced the operating costs. Period. Sorry to ruin your good story though man.

Um grease is not grease they are not all created equal PERIOD. Thats like saying all oils are created equal, with that mentality why run name brand motor oil when the dollar store sells there brand for .99 a bottle. Of course having cheap grease is better then no grease, but mixing chemicals with different chemical properties is never a good idea. Of course greased for life is not perfect nothing ever is, but the two years I worked at Ford as a techs helper it wasn't often for a vehicle to come in for bad ungreaseable joints.

I'm sorry let me reiterate, ANY lubrication is better than none, hows that? Your post supports EXACTLY what I am trying to explain so why are you questioning it? and I quote " but the two years I worked at Ford as a techs helper it wasn't often for a vehicle to come in for bad ungreaseable joints." Which makes the cost of operating a vehicle go? DOWN.....which is exactly what I said. Are you that guy who likes playing devils advocate or just like to type? If you think that making parts unserviceable makes the operating costs go down then thats your perogative.

I see what your saying but here is what I've been trying to explain. It had to do with companys losing money by warrenting parts due to the wrong application of grease being used. Not operating cost for for cunsumers, hell the way vehicles are being designed is so the average Joe can't work on his vehicle but take it to a shop to be serviced. And yes from time to time I do like to play devils advocate.

ok how about platinum plugs? Are those better than copper? But what do they put in cars, Platinum, because for a little less performance mileage etc, but for longer life you can get the cost of ownership to drop down. I was merely using ball joints as an example.

That scares me about the lucas thing, I always use lucas oil stabilizer in my oil changes and was just about to switch from regular 10w30 to mobil 1 10w30 with synthetic stabilizer.. I dont know if I am going to now but I have always had good things from the lucas like I had an old escort that ticked like crazy I put lucas in it and it didnt tick anymore.

I personally think that lucas not being good thing is crap. How long have they been around and how long have they run that stuff in serious automotive stuff. Hmmmmm i think that someone might have messed with the color lol.

I did ford parts for like 5 years. the reason for no grease fittings is $. I had asked a ford engineer the same question and thats the answer i got. It seams ford save alotof money making parts but not including the fitting.heres there reasoning if the fitting costs say 50 cents times that buy say 1 million thats 5 mill. plus you need a machine to drill the hole for the fitting.they would rather have you come in an buy a new part every 2 years. But there is a way around this if you heat the grease up till its almost liquid you can inject the grease with one of those needle fittings use for inflating a football. just stick it in the rubber boot. and for stuff like u-joints and stuff just get the after market part. most after market parts have a grease fitting. ;D

When I cleaned my IAC it got ruined. When I bought another one my car works fine. But when I shift it kinda revs in between shifts and it pisses me off. How can I fix that?

How did it get ruined? I've cleaned mine about 6 times. Every 2-3 oil changes i pop it off and liberaly spray inside with carb cleaner and shakeshakeshake the hell out of it and let it dry and stick it back on.

I have no Idea. I used carb cleaner. Buddy of mine did it the same time. Did it just the way you described. Put both of ours on. His car ran better, my car reved to 2k and wouldnt stop. Or it would die unless i gave it gas.

Revving in between shifts does sound like an IAC problem. How's your idle? You may want to reset set you idle, mechanically, and see what that does.

Idle is perfectly fine. Doesnt move or anything. Its only in between shifts and its I would say 70% of the time its like a 100-200 rpm rev. Im used to driving cars that go down when you shift not up its weird and you can hear it because my car is loud and it sounds retarded lol. Any help will be nice.
