Why does he call it an '03 if it's not? That's lame, for anyone that knows what they're looking at it's an obvious difference.

yea especially from a stop light :santa_evil:

No 200 Cobra's either, they stopped in order to prep for the 03.

To answer your question, I would have him check for air leaks in the intake tract and the IAC. Does he have an aftermarket CAI?

The only 2000 Cobra was the R, I heard they didn't make any regular 2000 Cobras because they had to recall the '99 Cobras for lack of power and God knows what other problems they had, not to prepare for the 2003. Maybe that's why they didn't make any 2002s for the US.

More 99 Cobra info ....

99 Cobra recall:
The heart of it. The 99's had a poorly casted intake manifold with casting flaws and a lot of flash everywhere, as I understand. The fix; FORD extrude honed the intake to smooth the runners and regain the flow capability lost, and I remember something about swapping our exhaust as well to meet the expect/advertised hp claim. Anyway, FORD and SVT took a lot of grief over the underpowered Cobras that year.

Reasoning by the lack of domestically sold Cobra for MY2000....was the recall and ensuring the following year did not have the same problems.

I dunno what I was drinking when I typed that. The 200 was killed because of the recall and egg Ford had on their face for getting busted over-rating it. The 2002 was stopped because Colletti said it was too lame.

back to the problem at hand...fuel filter? do a tune-up, that will most likely clear up that issue.
