watchout for flying springs...right Mark..lol

I had the nut on the top of my strut in the front spring off when I let the control arm down too fast. luckily I had my hood liner in lol....it was kinda scary I just ducked as soon as I saw what was happening. It prolly took me like 20 minutes to find that bastard too...ended up nearly on the other side of the garage behind a toolbox or something.

mine is a faded black, hahaha. in some of the pics i took one day it actually looks like i have the chameleon paint that the 96 cobras had (at least to me), but it was just the sunset that day.

IDK yet...i am really considering it.

...why are you getting new tierods?...instead you should really consider a Bump-Steer Kit instead because it replaces the Tie-Rods is Spherical-Bushings

because mine are still the original ones that came with the car, the boots are cracked on them, no grease left in them, and they are jsut really loose. i opted to go with the 04 cobra tie rods just because i wanted to see how good they really are. the rear ones are pretty beefy so i figured the front ones would be good too

Replacing your Tie rods with stop is a waist of time....trust me, since you are lowered your REALLY need this.

Dont replace with stop because it wont help you, A bumpsteer kit replaces your tierods and fixes the Geopmentry of a lowered mustang to eliminate Bumpsteer.

I have the UPR one....

http://www.uprproducts.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=533

Here is the Steeda one

http://www.steeda.com/products/bumpsteer_kit.php

There is a Maximum Motorsports one also but it requires you to drill your Spindle so dont get that one. I am happy with my UPR bumpsteer kit. Same as steeda

honestly, even when it was at its stock height, it still felt the same. mine is barely lowered and i know i dont need a bump steer kit, ive heard that the newer cobra tie rods work better than the aftermarket bumpsteer kits if its barely lowered. i know you lowered your car more than mine is lowered, right?

oh, and its a no-go for savi this weekend. i gotta drive to Tijuana to pick up my cousin's wife from the airport. :lame: (<--the fact that i have to go to mexico. i dont mind picking her up, i just really dont like mexico....)

here are some articles/websites/threads that helped me out when i was doing my swap:

this one helped me the most: http://www.angelfire.com/bug/irs0/pg3.html (has pop-ups tho)
http://www.stangpro.com/html/articles/irs.htm
http://www.mouthbreather.net/IRSSWAP.HTML (<-- take note of step #9. thats the part on the passanger side i mentioned about earlier, the part you need to hammer away at. steps 10-12a talk about the bracket holes. ignore what they do with the horizontal ones, but pay attention to what they do about the vertical ones as you will need to do that too)

oh, and i jsut remembered one other part you will need: Precision 448 u-joint for the rear driveshaft u joint. i got mine from ebay, you can get yours from napa.

Im waiting for DFG to come in here and tell you you are stupid for wanting to do it and how solid is better in every way this, IRS worse in every way that...but honestly man its the one thing ive done to my car that I am extremely happy with, it looks and works beautifully. I get questions about it all the time, compliments, looks, you name it.

not in evry way, for a DD i would get IRS..for any race related reason i would have a solid....
