possibly the wiring that runs through the bottom of your original console! I bought a 98-99 style for my 95 and the harness was completely different! Then when I bought my 96 Cobra I located another 98-99 console for my cobra and the wiring was also different! :dontknow:

but just thought I would throw that out there cause I ran into that problem...

custom harness or use tap the wires for the foglights and just use the wiring harness off a 98 for the 12v power. and also youd have to modify the coin holder slot to fit your fog light switch.. ive done this on my 94.

let me see if i can find pics.

I hope it was temporary as twist nuts have NO use in a cars environment. The wires are held together by springs and after a year of expansion/contraction due to temp changes, and all the vibrations a cars wiring has, will lead to that cap comming off and leaving a completely exposed wire connection sure to ground out. Crimp caps are acceptable, soldering is always prefered and T-taps and twist nust are worse then being T-bagged(so I hear).......

that was temporarily, just to make sure i was getting everything working properly.
actually i soldered it, wrap it with electrical tape and then melt it down with a heat gun. is that good? lol

I did the same thing Javi did, put an 04 console in my 97, and spliced the wiring to use the cig. lighter in the console box. Is it just me, or does the back of the console seem to have a huge gap between it and the floor? Or are they all like that and I never noticed?

Center console wasn't bolt-on to the bracket when I took the picture.
It fit pretty tight actually.
