Great explanation, shovel. Very well said. Since you have both a v6 and GT SN95, can you compare the ride comfort only. Not the handling as tinnocker is looking for a 'softer' ride.

FYI...Summit sells Gabriel quad shocks for $25.99 each with great 5 star reviews! I believe I will start my suspension restoration with these.

Just traveling on rough pavement through my neighborhood in a straight line I don't particularly notice a difference in the ride. On the highway I don't really notice any difference either except that the GT has a tendency to pass people a lot faster

If I cross a drainage depression or railroad at an angle the GT feels more smooth, the best way I can describe it is the GT feels more "modern" in those specific circumstances. I expect that the quad shocks do their best work under heavy acceleration to prevent wheel hop, but their second best work when the axle articulates over substantially uneven surfaces because that necessarily puts a twisting load into it, the rubber bushings take that up by design but the vertical shock absorbers can't do anything to control the rebound of those bushings.

Even though they have the same shocks and sway bars (the V6 did not come with a rear sway bar from the factory but I added one and it's the same diameter as my GT's rear sway bar) it should be pointed out that the 7.5" rear axle is roughly 50lbs lighter than the 8.8" axle - I don't know what if any difference that makes to ride comfort in general.

My highway ride is ok. I think shovel describes it best and my problems are compounded by 30 year old rubber bushings. Mine makes a loose bumping noise when I go over a railroad track and will jar me some. I am going to replace ball joints and bushings later after I replace the quad shocks that I have ordered. The car has only 77,000 miles but has old rubber parts on it.

What's the width on that rim
Some wider tires fit the rims nice
Perfer the pro star or welds or centerline in 15 front and rear

275/50/15 or 275/60/15 if you’re doing radial sizes 325’s are a **** to get under there .

They’re just 26x11.50-15 right now . Planning to step up to a 27” or 28” tall tire next season . Most likely a 27”
