I'm a bit of a geek in that I love fasteners. In order to shine my motor up the way I have, I've spent a LOT of time identifying all sorts of fasteners in order to replace them with polished stainless steel versions. However, I realized that a listing of nuts and bolts for the 94-95 5.0 might also be helpful for people building motors and putting projects back together. Would anyone be interested in helping me with this?

I have a bunch of them listed on my desktop PC - but unfortunately it crashed and I'm in the process of trying to recover my data.

We could start with the easy ones like intake bolts, accessory bracket bolts, and so on, and move all the way to really obscure ones like TPS bolts and the like. Eventually we'd have a database with EVERY fastener in the engine bay, and move to the rest of the car from there if the need arose.

What we'd need is simple, if you're removing or reinstalling something, take a minute to find out what fastener is used, along with the thread pitch and length.

For example (I'm MAKING THIS UP):

A factory lower intake bolt is a 3/8"-16 x 2" bolt with an AN960 washer. There are 12 of them.

Does anyone think this would be helpful? Would anyone participate?

Paul.

If it were really organized I think it would be great. I'm sure there are a couple of guys on here that know what goes where.

i just went to bolt locker on ebay and got a stainless bolt kit or you can get one from ARP. bolt locker is much cheaper though and work just as good.

That's the thing, many of the bolt kits for Mustangs aren't for SN95s, and they don't have all the many fasteners you'd need for a motor. (ask me how I know)

This way we'd have a comprehensive listing available as a reference.

Yep, I have the totally stainless catalog, and have ordered from them a few times. I think I might continue compiling lists and send it to them when it's done. It would allow them to put together comprehensive kits for everything on a 94-95 Mustang.

I already cross-referenced everything to put all polished ARP bolts on a Vortech blower kit. :)
