Okay cool thanks for the info. Are the nitto 555r good? I don't drive in the rain and I live in florida where it never snows.

I cant say from experience but I have heard from alot of people that the 555r's are not very good tires, I have Nitto NT55's on my stang and they are pretty good for traction in dry weather, any water on the ground and they slide all around. the up side is theyre not too expensive but the down side is the life expectancy is 12000ish miles

Has anyone considered that maybe possibly the OP just can't drive? lol. Sorry OP, but anyone can make a NPI burn rubber from a stand still, that doesn't mean you can't get traction unless your tires are really that bad or the weather is acting up. Do you know how to properly launch? I hope I'm not insulting you, I'm just trying to get to the bottom of this.

Continental Extreme Contact DW's are always overlooked yet i cut 1.9 60's on them and I've had friends tell me they hook harder then nitto 555R.

Hell my 285-40 continentals hooked better then my 305 nitto 555R's

Have the DW's on my dads blown 3v (275-40) and the car stays hooked up well with just over 600ft/lbs of torque ;)

well the rain is a different story, he's saying on dry pavement with good tires.

OP can i ask how you know for a fact it's faster than your old camaro? Those camaros were probably low 14 second cars at worst and I don't think any NPI GT in history has ran way faster than that with the mods you have listed.

13.88 at 97 with a cai 3.73 gears and short throw an some sticky tires ... Npi for the win

Yeah I think I ended up with a 14.3.. lol... my first time on the track and it was a shit track. I'd like to get some slicks and hit up a decent track to see if I can hit a high 12. With my mods it shouldn't take much more than learning how to drive it

They're awesome tires. The DWS' are the same except you can attempt to drive in the snow with them. My bro has them on his fox, pretty much stock with full exhaust and intake and the car just hooks and books

okay... and that's not what the OP has. also from anything but a dig a '94 Z28 would probably pull it, again making it not a lot faster than the Camaro.

I see I have some hate here.. I 've raced a few z28 beat some and also lost from some. Not try to make my car sound fast. I also ride a superbikemike built 05 zx10r With 187whp if I want to go fast I just jump on that.

I don't think anybody is hating, your car just isnt THAT fast regardless of tire spin. I must be one of the few people who liked my 555Rs, I thought they were a great street tire.

Which nitto???

The nitto 555R, they weren't extremely expensive, I've gotten probably close to 25-27k miles on them and they still have around 4-5/32nds. They have decent grip for when I'm autocrossing and they have a good looking tread design so overall I think they're a good tire.

Well I guess you and me are in the same boat haha, I think they're a good street tire also, I haven't had any regrets about buying them.

Yeah ah there a hard compound... They last a while but don't grip near what a tire should.... Once you get them scalding hot they decide to finally grip.
