because MOST 96 Mustang GT's radiators were upgraded do to a recall. They were upgraded to the 97 style radiators and 97 mounting points.

The 96 radiators are grossly inadequate for cooling our cars. My car would start overheating driving down the interstate with the AC on. I replaced every single component other than the radiator trying to fix the problem. Turns out, the problem was the radiator all along. I called americanmuscle.com and ordered a 97 style mishimoto radiator from them for 199 shipped. I had to make some modifications to how it mounts in my car but my only problem now, is that I need to switch back to 190 degree thermostat because the car does not like to blow out hot air. The needle barely gets to the top of the N on the temp gauge.

Mishimoto. :thumb:

+1 I just helped 96 Blue Moon install one in his 96GT while we were putting his SC back on last weekend. He only paid like $199 for it and it came fully polished... and it dropped right in. Mushimoto is the way to go.

I been running the Mishimoto radiator since June of last year. Has been good to me because I can run my AC now without overheating.

I have a 180 degree therostat in my car and I am gonna switch back to the stock temp thermostat. You being in Arizona you don't have worry too much about about cold mornings!

Like 9psi98, I just installed a mishimoto radiator from americanmuscle for $199.00 and it fit right in my 96 mustang gt 5 speed with no problems at all. You can purchase one from Americanmuscle for the 96 mustang. This radiator looks and fits amazing.

Unhook your hoses and run you some water from your garden hose through top where the thermostat goes.

No need to modify anything. Just get the one that fits your 96 mustang and it will drop right in. I just installed mine last weekend with no problems.

At one time they were not making the 96 radiators. Like when i got mine. I had to do some modifying on my car to make it work. Now that they make the one for a 96, That is what you should go with.
