Hey! I have a 1998 GT with the NPI heads still....i was wondering can you use a set of aftermarket PI cams in a NPI head? I know you can swap factory PI cams in a NPI head so i assume you can for aftermarket ones? I know i have pi heads and should swap them on it but i just dont wanna tear the engine apart that much now to get a compression bump. Thanks

they will all bolt in like stock, but you have to be careful with PTV clearance.

btw, with NPI heads most of the aftermarket cams arent going to give you much gains.

I have heard that the npi heads are better for high lift cams and if i plan on supercharging it then then pi heads will give me to much compresion....i may do the wap still though....it jut looks very time consuming.

If you want to go to bigger heads, the next year is going to be a good time, in my opinion. There will probably be a lot of good used Patriot and other CNC stock heads on the market as people switch to the new Trick Flow heads. If you don't have a need to be an early adopter, you may land a good buy.
