2V WAP in a '63 Galaxie

I'm back with questions for the collective. The guy that is buying my WAP engine wants to put it in Galaxie. I have not seen the car so more information to follow.. He wants to have a 4W70 series transmission and PA the national trans guys are here in town. A good set up from them is 4k. He wats to do a 4150 series throttle body induction type and there are many ways to go on this, I have spent many hours reading Q&A's, forums, complaints and systems start cheap at FItech and go up from there, price is not an issue but this is not a show car. By the time I put all the parts required I am around 2k for induction and ignition, PCM/ECM for the trans. Holley and Edelbrock seem the standard with FAST being able to do a moon launch if required. This will be a NA build so a lot of the crap built into this companies systems is a waste. I have talked to Summit and they want a FITEK wet TB with a Edelbrock 6 series controller for the ignition but the trans is an afterthought. Holly can go wet or dry on the TB and has a harness that is Ford friendly and can run the trans too.

Why not buy a 96-02 crown Vic for $500, and just swap the whole of the wiring over in one fell swoop? Reprogram the eec for the setup and disable the rear o2 sensors, done.

He could go with a megasquirt for the engine and a microsquirt for transmission control. Its relatively easy to tune and can control just about anything in the world.

You can build a good 4r70w a lot cheaper than $4k. It doesnt take much to make the transmission strong, the key is a good torque converter.

If he doesnt want COP's what kind of spark setup is he trying to use? With megasquirt, you can use just about any coil pack you want. Im using chevy LS2 coil packs on mine, they have the strongest spark and are the easiest to wire up.

Hey warrior, iirc, the megasquirt system worked out real well for you, didnt it?

Yes sir, it did. The only big complaint I have with the system is lack of direct application guidance. If its going in something completely custom itll be pretty easy to deal with. It takes some learning but anyone with mechanical ability can make it happen. The transmission controller firmware is still kind of in developing mode but it all works out just fine.

Good, I want to do coil packs BUT it is not my car. Chevy has the simplest COP system with the most power, everywhere cheap. I found a perfect donor Crown Vic for 1.00, I told them to swoop in and grab it, had parking rent due on it for a fast sale needed. Haven't heard from the cabaiaro cousins in 3 days so I would say they missed it. I'll lean on them this weekend , I am running out of time.

I got 20 years left If am lucky, and that aint much, you'll see. Days weeks years are flying by now, too much to do. That light at the end of the tunnel is the train of death coming right at you fast but with no point of reference you can't tell.
