302 Block Question

What is the difference between the newer "roller cam" blocks than the older style? Basically what I am looking for is what is different under the timing chain cover area????? I have a brand new Pete Jackson gear drive setup that I bought several years ago for a FOX build I was going to do, however I noticed that the part number I have states it will "not fit the newer roller cam blocks"

Kinda bummed now, it took me a week to find it, and I went through about 100 boxes of crap stored in the attic of my garage... :comando:

just buy some link bar lifters to make it a roller block. problem solved. also some of the older 302 blocks are stronger. what year is your block

My block is a 1994.... Im trying to figure out what is different under the timing chain cover and why my Pete Jackson gear drive will not work with a 1994 block. When I called to check fitment to make sure the set I had (like I mentioned I bought this set about 4 or 5 years ago) They told me it would not work with the roller cam block.
