I have the Nitto drag radials on that are about shot, and would like to move to the summer tires as I don't take to the track and would like a little more life out of the tires. My questions is: is there any width difference between the 2? The drags give me just enough clearance to the quads, and I have heard the summer performance tires are wider? Any truth or are they the same size? Thanks.

There's no difference..my neighbor has a supra with 285 555r's on the rear and they're just the same as the 285 555's were on my buddy's 5.0..they're are a different compound..actually a pretty different tire altogether but the size is the same

can't give you an exact answer but there is probably a small difference. just becuase it's the same size doesn't mean the sidewall is the same measurement. i had 305/35-18 MT ET street 2s and switched to NT555Rs of the same size. the MT fit with the quad shocks, the NT555rs did not. a good 1/2" difference.

Slow90Coupe-Do you have clearance issues with the street tires being wider? quads or exhaust mods needed? Or did they fit right in? Thanks

I have a 17x11 wheel that measures over 12 inches, so I had to remove quads, and remove e-brake brackets. My tailpipes are nowhere near touching though.
