Yep. Still, the cost of swapping the big block really wouldn't make it worth it. You could have a 347 make similar power once it was all said and done.

True i agree i am all about being different though.... He could buy drews 302 stroked 347 and have a killer setup :) sorry i had to do it.

First off let me just state that i thank everyone who commented and gave me some advice.... As to Paul well paul is paul, for some reason or another someone like me can't have a nitrous kit and a turbo kit installed on my car but i'll ignore his attempt at being a very knowledgeable individual with a 3" penis. if the title is read then we can all understand that i'm looking for opinions on building a 351 stock block with performance upgrades and my budget is 3000 dollars and wishing 400hp. Now this is only a question not a statement. CAN it be Done? if it can be done what are some good ways without going into a stroker. if not then its fine too. i'm not arguing anything i just want some opinions like
ex: yea sell my rpm heads and systemax intake install victor jr heads and spyder efi intake with whatever cam and that should net you around 400hp. something like that.

also what are the biggest valves i can run on a production 351 block?
for heads trickflow, afr or anyother....

Do you guys get it ? BTW i'll post pictures of my turbo kit and nitrous kit just to prove PAUL wrong. i know nothing needs to be proved anyways but i'll post pics just to shut him up. Not all of us make 150000 a year and can have many fast cars. Some of us are college students trying to enjoy our love for mustangs and pushrods.
thanks.

Ok then find some mounts and drop in a 460 into your car i am sure if you looked you could find it all for less than 3000. You could have 400 at the crank massive torque and a car that is very out of the norm too.

I am still contemplating on putting something like a 460 in my car. It would take a lot of work but would be different for a street driven car. I still have a lot more reading and researching though before i would even attempt this.

that 460 swap sounds freaking awesome to me but i don't think i can tackle such a swap. I live in an apartment complex so i can"t just do what i want but i think i can manage a 351 swap provided i get all the parts in first. so anyways what are some good combos?? for a stock bottom ended 351? what heads intake and cam would make some decent power??? i have a friend that works at an advance auto parts and i can get amazing prices on edelbrock or holley parts as well as msd etc etc....i got my walbro 255lph intank for 90 bucks brand new, so i can get good prices just give me some ideas, thats all i'm asking

JD's Performance sells the Walbro 255lph Hi-Pressure pump with install kit for ~$85 dude.

As far as doing a 351 swap...I am probably missing a few things but here is what you will need:

balancer, flywheel, headers, intake (302= 8.2" deck, 351 = 9.5"), fuel rails, distributor, oil pan, pickup, lower motor mounts.

You might need a balancer spacer if you want to keep the serpantine setup, need to get / make brackets for the accessories if you want to keep the serp setup...Paul will have to answer that one.

I would do:

Trick Flow 351 Intake
AFR 205's
FTI Custom Cam

Stroke it to a 408, AFR 205 heads, FTI camshaft, Edelbrock Victor 5.8 intake + all the exhaust work (long tubes are a must) and fuel upgrades + everything for the 351 swap + tuning and you will have over 400 on the 351 block. Guy over at RNH performance has just about that exact combo and was putting out 430+ w/ more tuning to be done. Every engine will be different and every dyno will be different but that's what you would be looking at in the ball park.
