So I was looking at my 95 gt today and i found out that the person who had the car before me put 4:10 gears in it, what are the advantages or disadvantages to keeping it in or should i go to 3:73, keep in mind this is my daily driver i only drive 15 miles a day in it but later this year i have to drive from here in lower alabama to ft lee virginia for two months... I need your input please

for a daily driver, you may want to switch to 3.73 or even 3.55... I have 4.10s in my car, and gas mileage is considerably affected..
I only keep them in my car because I have another car for a daily driver, and when I do drive the mustang, rarely is it highway.

see thats the thing, where i live down here in alabama theres not too many good shops and a good shop gave me a estimate of $415 labor plus parts... but i just dont know enough about it yet and i dont want it tearing up my car after driving it for 600 miles at a time...

You're not going to see a huge increase in MPG stepping from 4.10s to 3.73s. That $600 you spend on installing them would go a lot further if that went to your gas money instead.

is horsepower affected at all between 3:73 and 4:10? whats the big difference?

Gears are kind of like the multipliers of power. It will feel like there is less power but as far as changing the actual output of the motor, they do nothing. The numbers correspond to the ratio of how many times your tires spin compared to your driveshaft. With one full rotation of the driveshaft, you're tires will turn 4.10 times, 3.73 times, etc depending on your gear setup.

Being a Vert i would just leave it alone. Kinda like what was said the cost and difference in MPG wouldn't be worth it just hit cruise on the highway at 65 mph :)

It means that for every 3.73 or 4.10 revolutions of your drive line, your tires will have gone one revolution

What difference does it make if its a vert?

Just keep ur 4.10s, its not worth changing them out if ur car is staying n/a. Now if you end up going f/i down the road, 4.10s are gonna make ur tires worthless.
