after you put in the 5.5 quarts, fire up the motor....let it idle for 10-15 seconds, then shut it off...let it sit for a min or two, then check your fill level again....guarantee you will need to add another quart.........dont forget, the oil filter hold at least .5 quart....

u can add up to 7 quarts, you wont hurt anything if you do....

6-7.. i put 6 full synthetic in... engine burns some, so ive had to add more.. otherwise im going to redo it this time and prolly do 6.5 since i dont beat on it on a regular basis..

6 qts. is what it takes and it will read low on the dip stick. When you add extra you run the chance of foaming the oil and washing out the bearings there is a TSB on this issue if I can find it I will post it.
