Will the wiring harness for a 4.6 work for a 4.6 stroker? I am considering getting a 4.6 stroker when I get my car since the car has 131k on it. Plus I plan on putting a supercharger on it. Thanks for the answers in advance.

What's a 4.6 stroker you mean a 5.0 stroker or 5.1stroker never seen a 4.6 one yet maybe from the 4.2 v6.

But like the others said the wiring is the same because its the same engine. What kinda a car is it ? You'll want some ported heads atleast for the stroker to breathe and maybe a nice intake manifold

I'm with Musturd, wtf is a 4.6 stroker. A stroker notes that the stroke has changed, to change displacement.

Largest v6 stroker I know of is 4.3 (something tells me I'd be knowledgeable there ;p), possibly a 4.4 if you have the long rods and 30 over pistons.

Or are you stroking the 4.6?

You will need a tune.

It's just an odd choice of wording. Was basically just referring to a stroked 4.6 platform.

And OP, I like DSS's stuff. I'm running their pistons in my new engine. They were the only ones helpful enough to do the piston the way I wanted them to. Don't let the old flame threads about them discourage you. They are back to putting out top notch stuff.

Another thing, If you've got the money, do a big bore or a big bore stroker. Big bore > stroker for power. But if you just want to stroke it go ahead, they are good setups. I wouldn't do anything less than the 5.0 stroker kits like you are looking at. Do not waste time on doing a 4.75 stroker from MMR. Waste...

guys, before we start just saying yes.....

are you taking a 4.6 out of your mustang and putting it right back in after the stroker kit is installed? If so, yes, your wiring harness will work fine.

If you are "building" a 4.6 to install into something:

if you are doing a terminator based stroker build, there are extra sensors which are not on other 4.6L wiring harnesses.
the wiring harness for the cobras (96/97, 98, 99, 01, 03/04) are different from eachother and other 4.6 wiring harnesses.

we need some more details to give you a for-sure answer :)

I will be taking the old worn out 4.6 out and putting in a 4.6 stroker or if it is stroked to 5.0 will the wiring harness still work?
