Honestly, those heads are going to be a pretty break through for the 2V motors, because obviously with the combustion chambers being shaped like they are the chamber is going to be much more efficient for higher RPM and higher boost applications. Although with a $3000ish price tag its a little pricey but probably is one of the most efficient heads on the market currently.

they are a monster breakthrough and hopefully will lead to other companies finally designing an aftermarket head for the 4.6

and yeah my bad, they're not 2k, that's what i saw on their website, and these specific heads as i read were not on their website yet

There's very little market for those head's. I looked into it myself, Livernois can eat the cost just to say they did it, but at 3500 a pair, they are hardly making 5% profit.

However, everyone seems to forget, that turning a few wrenches will save you thousands.

i agree with J.R. $5000 for a short block is crazy,i dont see why that many people dont try to build them them selves.i havent rebuilt a mod motor but i have rebuilt my fair share of 5.0l and honda motors.i think a mod motor s/b could be easily built for half that. for parts and a small amount of machine work.once i see how the new trick flows work out i might decide to go back to the idea of n/a 4.6l

$5k isn't too far fetched for a short block, open a catalog and order all new parts, drop them off at a decent shop and then go pick it up, it sounds about right.
I've always done my own engine assembly and never had any issues, its all about checking and rechecking and using good parts.
For the stroker I'm setting up:
Eagle rods:$500
Eagle Forged crank: $800
Arias pistons: $700

I'm at $2100 and haven't even had the machine work done yet. Don't forget gaskets, bearings and bolts.
I'll have about $3500 in my short block before its finished. On top of that will be a set of heads, another $2k and then I've still got to factor in a power adder and fuel system and the broken transmission that will come from the added power along w/ axles.
Then I'll have to sit back and hope that it actually runs well enough to drive to work everyday.

Those trick flows have my total attention. I won't be using them but I'm curious to see what they do compared to stock PI heads.
